Former Harlingen Clinic Employee Accused of Embezzling $750,000

HARLINGEN, Texas – A former Valley Cancer Associates employee has been arrested after police accused her of diverting approximately $750,000 from the Harlingen clinic into personal bank accounts.

Harlingen police identified the former employee as Yuliana Perez. Investigators allege she transferred company money into four personal accounts between May 2025 and April 2026.

Police said the transactions were disguised as legitimate expenses involving vendors that regularly did business with the clinic. Perez was arrested Tuesday without incident with assistance from the Brownsville Police Department.

Bond information was not immediately available. The accusation is an allegation, and Perez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
