Before the sun rises, the City of Brownsville’s Hotshot Crew from the Department of Engineering and Public Works is already hard at work.
Every weekday morning at 4:30 AM, this dedicated team hits the streets of Downtown Brownsville with one mission: to keep the heart of our city clean, safe, and inviting for residents, visitors, and businesses.
Covering a four-block area, the crew empties trash bins, sweeps sidewalks, and clears debris, ensuring that Downtown is ready to shine by the time the city wakes up.
Their efforts support both pedestrian and vehicular safety, while also contributing to a more vibrant and beautiful urban environment.
