SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas — Sea Turtle Inc. will hold its fifth annual Kemp’s Krawl Glow Run on Sept. 19, combining a nighttime beach 5K with fundraising for sea-turtle rescue, rehabilitation, research and education.
The event will be held near Barry’s Beach Bar and the Hilton Garden Inn on South Padre Island. Day-of registration and vendor activities begin at 6 p.m., followed by pre-race activities at 7:30 p.m. and the run at 8 p.m.
Participants may run, jog or walk the beach course. Organizers are encouraging attendees to wear bright or glowing clothing and accessories. The post-race program will include awards, photographs, medals, refreshments, a pop-up gift shop and a live DJ.
Registered participants may pick up race packets Friday, Sept. 18, at Sea Turtle Inc., 6617 Padre Blvd. Packet pickup includes free admission to the organization’s facility.
Proceeds support Sea Turtle Inc.’s conservation and medical-care programs. Registration and sponsorship information are available through the organization’s event page.
