BROWNSVILLE, Texas – A SpaceX Starship prototype that survived a trip to space has returned to the Port of Brownsville area after its test flight from Starbase.
Ship 40 was transported through the port after returning from the launch site. The stainless-steel vehicle is the first Starship identified in reporting as having completed a spaceflight and later returned to South Texas for further work.
Starship development and testing at Starbase have made the Port of Brownsville a visible part of the region’s aerospace logistics network, with specialized cargo movements and industrial operations supporting the program.
SpaceX has not announced the prototype’s next assignment. Future testing and operations remain subject to federal licensing, safety requirements and operational planning.
