As part of the 101st Texas Public Health Association (TPHA) Education Conference held in Brownsville, members joined the City of Brownsville for a special tree planting event.

This symbolic gesture marked TPHA’s presence in the city while underscoring the organization’s dedication to working with planners statewide to enhance community well-being. The initiative supports efforts to create more walkable, inviting neighborhoods, offer shaded spaces for families, and encourage healthier lifestyles across Texas.

The tree planting was part of the TPHA Fellows Project and reflects the continued collaboration between TPHA, the American Planning Association, and urban planners throughout the state.

The newly planted tree can be found at the Brownsville Bike Barn, located at 624 E. Madison Street.
