Texas Southmost College graduate Richard Rivas says the Auto Body Repair Technology program helped him find direction after years of uncertainty about his career path.
Before enrolling at TSC, Rivas worked in food service and janitorial jobs. After researching college programs, he decided to pursue his interest in cars and enrolled in auto body repair.
Rivas credited program coordinator Donald L. Wilt and instructor Edrick J. Cuevas with helping him build skills in restoration, painting and vehicle preparation. His commitment also helped him earn a $2,500 Collision Repair Education Foundation scholarship.
Now a graduate, Rivas plans to pursue a full-time career in the auto body repair industry.
