San Benito officials are considering whether to make Market on Robertson a permanent city program after the downtown market returns from a two-month break.
The market has been operating as a pilot program since the city took it over about six months ago. City leaders are expected to review attendance, vendor participation and community feedback during August and September budget meetings before deciding whether to continue the program long term.
The next market is scheduled for Aug. 8, 2026, after weather forced earlier markets to be canceled. The city has about 25 vendors signed up and is hoping to reach 40 vendors for the event.
Local business owners have said the market helps bring additional shoppers into downtown San Benito while giving vendors and residents another community gathering space.
