The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) men’s and women’s tennis teams will host a free youth tennis clinic Saturday, October 3, from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Brownsville Tennis Center.
The clinic is open to children ages 3-13 of all skill levels. Participants will learn fundamental tennis skills, take part in drills and point play, and have the opportunity to meet and ask questions of UTRGV coaches and student-athletes. Rackets will be provided for those who need one.
The clinic will be led by women’s tennis head coach West Nott, men’s tennis head coach Nathan Robinson, and members of both UTRGV tennis teams.
“We are looking forward to connecting with the local community in Brownsville,” Nott said. “We want to keep sharing our love for tennis with the local families.”
Robinson added that the clinic gives local youth a unique opportunity to interact with Division I athletes and learn more about life as both a student and athlete.
The event continues UTRGV Athletics’ community outreach efforts and commitment to growing tennis throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
