City of Brownsville breaks ground on new Embassy Suites — largest in RGV

The City of Brownsville marked a significant milestone in local development with a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, October 27, 2025, for the future Embassy Suites by Hilton, a premier hotel that will be the largest Embassy Suites in the Rio Grande Valley.

Located at 3301 Pablo Kisel Blvd and Springmart Boulevard, this highly anticipated project brings a new luxury and convenience to the region’s hospitality offerings. The seven-story, 95-foot-high hotel will feature 170 rooms, 178 parking spaces, and amenities for business and leisure travelers, including a resort-style pool and event-ready meeting spaces.

This approximate $10 million investment by Ruby Red Hospitality is another testament that Brownsville is competing, attracting, and thriving in South Texas,” said John Cowen Jr., Brownsville Mayor.

“This hotel will help create great experiences for guests, from sharing the culture and cuisine of Brownsville to showcasing innovation and the economic energy. This project means more jobs for Brownsville, more local spending at nearby shops and restaurants, and hotel tax revenues, directly supporting city programs, tourism, and infrastructure improvements,” Mayor Cowen said.

“Making it the largest Embassy Suites in the Rio Grande Valley really speaks to the leadership of the Mayor, the City Commission, the executive team,” said City Manager Helen Ramirez, ICMA-CM, AICP.

“We have been looking at growth in Brownsville growth over the last decade and the tremendous things that are happening around SpaceX, LNG but not only that but the community itself has grown so much with the university and the hospital like it has, creating a group of people that were looking for a hotel like this,” said, Barry Patel CEO of Red Ruby Hospitality.

In addition to boosting local tourism and economic development, the new Embassy Suites will offer prime viewing opportunities for SpaceX launches at Starbase, making it a strategic location for tourists and aerospace industry visitors.

Modified parking requirements were approved to support the project’s unique design and scope, ensuring accessibility while maximizing space efficiency for guests.

The Embassy Suites by Hilton project reflects the city’s ongoing efforts to attract top-tier investments and elevate the visitor experience in Brownsville.
