The City of Brownsville invited the community to lace up, roll out, and ride into a healthier lifestyle at the next edition of CycloBia, the city’s signature open-street event that transforms major roadways into a car-free zone for all to enjoy.
CycloBia offers residents a chance to bike, skate, walk, or simply enjoy the outdoors with family and friends — all while promoting health, wellness, and active living.
This year’s event comes with a nostalgic twist, as participants are invited to travel through time, with each park along the route celebrating a different decade:
- Linear Park grooved to the funky beats and retro vibes of the 1970s.
- Washington Park shone with the neon colors and energy of the 1980s.
- Market Square flashed back to the bold looks and pop culture of the 1990s.
“This event is all about connecting the community, encouraging physical activity, and celebrating our city’s vibrant spirit,” said Eva Garcia, Senior Planner for the Multimodal Department. “We love seeing residents of all ages come out to ride, skate, or walk together.”
CycloBia is free and open to the public, and participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite decade-inspired outfits as they enjoy live music, themed activities, and a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
So grab your bike, skates, or bell-bottoms, and get ready to travel through time at CycloBia!
