Bechtel shines a spotlight on women in construction with empowering open house

Bechtel recently hosted a “Women in Construction Open House” at its recruitment center, an event aimed at encouraging and empowering women to explore careers in the construction industry.

The open house provided attendees the opportunity to meet with Bechtel representatives, hear from women currently working in the field, and learn about career pathways available at the Rio Grande LNG site. The event highlighted the company’s commitment to workforce diversity and creating opportunities for women in traditionally male-dominated fields.

“We really want to empower women to join the construction industry,” said Monica Tellam, Communications Manager for Rio Grande LNG. “There’s lots of potential for growing your career and expanding your opportunities, and we want to make sure people know about all the possibilities that exist with a company like Bechtel.”

Bechtel leaders emphasized that supporting women in construction is essential for building a stronger, more inclusive industry. Diverse teams foster innovation, bring fresh perspectives, and contribute to a richer and more dynamic workplace culture.

The event reflects Bechtel’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, workforce development, and gender equity, while also supporting the region’s economic growth through the Rio Grande LNG project.
