Trump says White House ordered 250 Cadillac Escalades for motorcade

President Donald Trump said the White House has ordered 250 Cadillac Escalades for the presidential motorcade, according to USA TODAY.

Trump made the remark July 27 during a speech at General Motors’ vehicle testing facility in Milford, Michigan. He described the SUVs as a preferred choice for the motorcade and said, “We look sharp in those Escalades.”

The announcement was presented as a statement by the president; the report did not include procurement documents or a government confirmation detailing the order’s cost, delivery schedule or funding source.

The 2026 Cadillac Escalade has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price starting in the low $90,000s, while the high-performance V-Series model is priced near $170,000, USA TODAY reported. Cadillac also produces the presidential limousine, commonly known as “The Beast.”

Trump’s remarks came as he praised General Motors employees and highlighted the company’s Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and Hummer brands. General Motors recently reported stronger-than-expected second-quarter results while posting a year-over-year decline in net income, according to the report.
