A low-cost adhesive window trap is being promoted as a way to help reduce flies, mosquitoes and gnats inside homes.
Southern Living reviewed Catchmaster window traps, which are placed near windows and use an adhesive surface to capture insects. The traps are intended as one household pest-control option and do not address the food, water or entry points that may attract insects.
Residents considering the product should follow the package directions and observe any label warnings, including instructions about placement around children and pets. Homeowners may also need to address screens, standing water, trash and other conditions that contribute to insect problems.
