BROWNSVILLE, Texas – Brownsville Parks and Recreation has introduced Community Micro Cabinets at Tres Ángeles Park and La Posada Park, providing residents with access to nonperishable food and essential goods.
The cabinets operate on a take-what-you-need, leave-what-you-can model. The city said no registration or sign-up is required, and residents who can contribute are encouraged to donate unopened nonperishable food and toiletries.
The first cabinets are located at Tres Ángeles Park, 805 E. Tyler St., and La Posada Park, 1325 La Posada Drive. City staff built and installed the cabinets in-house, according to the announcement.
