STHS to Host Free Webinar on Stress Management and Emotional Wellness

EDINBURG, Texas – Stress is a natural response to change and challenge, often affecting individuals physically, emotionally and behaviorally. While it is an unavoidable part of daily life, effective stress management can help people navigate difficulties with greater balance, clarity and resilience.

Nearly 30% of adults report feeling so stressed on most days that it affects their ability to function effectively, according to the American Psychological Association, underscoring the significant impact chronic stress can have on overall well-being.

Bob Cooper, director of utilization review for South Texas Health System Behavioral, said persistent stress can take a serious toll on physical and emotional health. Fatigue, irritability, difficulty concentrating and changes in sleep patterns can be early warning signs.

Healthy coping strategies may include deep breathing, regular exercise, mindfulness, setting boundaries and making time for self-care. Recognizing the causes of ongoing stress can help people improve resilience and restore balance.

STHS will address those strategies during the next installment of its Let’s Talk Your Health webinar series. The free virtual seminar will be broadcast live on the STHS Facebook page from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18.

The program will provide practical tools and evidence-based strategies for managing stress, improving emotional wellness and preventing burnout. Previous Let’s Talk Your Health programs are available through STHS.
